Richard was born in England and emigrated to
new Zealand with his family as he was starting
school. He moved to Australia in 1998 and now
splits his time between Sydney and Los Angeles.
Prior to attending film school he worked both as a musician and an engineer.
After graduating he worked in music videos and documentaries before moving into
commercials whilst still in new Zealand.
Richard has worked around the world and his impressive understanding of both
shooting, acting, film narrative and post production has seen him highly awarded
internationally, including one of his short films being short listed for an academy
award.
He is also an accomplished matte painter and a director of photography.
He has written a children’s book that has been licensed to schools around Asia and
also recently completed a screenplay adaption of the Chuck Palahniuk novel ‘rant’
that was commissioned out of America.
